This weekends Market

Hey everyone!

Mother Nature has not been kind to us weather wise these last two weeks but we are going to show her she can't keep us down! If you are able and want to, we will be setting up both Saturday and Sunday this week. So come on out and enjoy the good times all weekend long.

Also a friendly reminder that next weekend is Canada Day, we will be holding our annual Vintage fair! We will see lots of new vendors with some very unique and interesting goods, live music, good food and to top it all off, a parade! So come out next weekend for two more whole days of summer fun around the market.

Saturday June 16th

It was a damp day at the market, but it did not affect the high spirits of the vendors and many visitors at today's market.

The Pie Lady (Maureen Haynes) was back from vaction and sold out before noon!

Jaggi (BST Fruit) and his Dad made the trek up the hill from Osoyoos to sell their fresh produce - bringing the first cherries of the year and beans, and corn and peppers and tomatos and cabbages and cucumbers and zuchinnis!

Teri Lyon's bread and butter tarts was featured at the Food Share tent, as well his incredible wooden toys were for sale. I wish I had a grand daughter I could get that doll high chair for!

John Fair and his Travelling Bookstore have the best alarm clocks! They look like a stikes of dynamite wirred to a clock! And as always, Beary Good Stuff sold out of Blueberry Garlic Jelly and
Strawberry Jalapeno Barbeque Sauce!

Market Meals - Dale Pownall really has a hot with his Waffles! You just have to try them!

Next week should be a fabulous market! See you there!

Dogs and the Market

We know you love your dog and we love your dog too, but because of heath regulations, your dog cannot visit the market.
Your dog can be walked around the perimeter of the Market. There is green space to the north of the Market, or your can relax with your dog on the east side of Rags, Relics and Rutabagas. Just behind Rags, Relics and Rutabaga and just East of the market there are tall trees and lots of shade. If you want a doggie sitter while you visit the market, visit Beary Good Stuff (PlaySafe Dogs) and we will stay with your dog while you wander the market or have a bite to eat at Market Meals.

Market is growing!

We are one month into the market and its getting bigger and better every weekend! Our vendor variety is growing rapidly with the new addition of a Masseuse.

Putting a call out to all you musically talented people. We would love to see some musicians setup and play for the crowds. There will be no entrance or setup fee's if you just want to setup a chair and play music and take donations.

Update From Our Environmental Health Officer

We have recieved the final vesion of the temporary market guidelines from our Environmental Health Officer, Cheryl Unger.
Foods to be offered at a temporary marke are to be of low risk status, packaged or protected in some way. Our Manager and our vendors are responsible for determining if a food is low or high risk. If food is deemed high risk, it is not allowed to be offered at the market without prior approval (from our EHO - Cheryl Unger).
Please refer to the guidelines for examples of low and high risk foods and information and signage.
She will come to the market from time to time to see what foods are being offered to determine if the guidlines are being complied with.
Please be advised she can require a vendor to discontinue a sale of a food and/or seize foods if they are not in complience with the guidelines.
